Benefits of Attendance

KAUST Global IT Summit 2017 for Leading Research Institutions

We are pleased to welcome CIOs, CTOs, and IT Thought Leaders to our beautiful campus on the shores of the Red Sea. As our guest, you will have the opportunity to shape the future strategic direction of KAUST IT by participating in our panel discussions. In addition to attending the panels, you will be invited to network with other industry leaders and take a close look at our young but unique university.

It is also an opportunity for you to see some of the progress that we have made in the Middle East and how we are transforming the talent landscape in our region and the surrounding area. The CIOs, CTOs and Industry Leaders will come from companies and universities located all over the world and the format, along with evening dinners and social activities, will allow ample off-line time for networking and relationship building.

CIO Welcome

KAUST Global IT Summit 2017 for Leading Research Institutions

As the KAUST CIO from before KAUST’s first students and faculty arrived on campus in September of 2009, I have had the privilege of watching KAUST evolve into one of the leading research institutions in the world and I look forward to personally welcoming all our invited guests to experience KAUST first hand on February 8th-10th, 2017 for the KAUST Global IT Summit.

In 2007 we invited global IT thought leaders and researchers to help KAUST define the IT technical tools required for a tier 1 research university from start up through the first 5-7 years of research and education. KAUST would now like to do a thorough review and analysis of our next 5 Year IT Strategic Plan with your help and guidance as one of today’s current IT thought leaders and global expert on emerging technologies.

The goal of this KAUST IT Global Summit is to share in detail the drivers, operating context and tactics required to support a tier 1 research university in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and then improve on that plan with your strategic insights, ending with developing a Strategic Plan for KAUST IT that will continue to provide KAUST’s Researchers, Faculty, Students and Community Members with the best IT infrastructure available for collaboration, discovery and community life.
